Sitting in a Tree

[Michael]

"Hmph. So, you're actually gonna let me rent you a room?" said Michael. He was surprised that he didn't actually have to make any attempt to convince her. When he had last brought up the suggestion, she had shown a great deal of reluctance to accept aid in that form. He hoped that she would let him buy her a room. They had gone out for an unsuccessful dinner, and he wanted to get her something for compensation.

[Reji]

"Well..." Reji frowned. She didn't like having people to wait on her, but considering the circumstances.... "Um, sure," she said with a weak smile. "But only if you let me pay you back when I can," she added seriously. Sure, she didn't have much, but she could earn some.

[Michael]

"Like I said, you've given me the gift of your company simply by agreeing to come out with me. Not to mention the fact that you showed me this awesome place." Michael said. But upon seeing the especially serious expression on Reji's face, Michael smiled gently. "But if you insist, then sure. You can pay me back whenever you can and whenever you feel like it. So, are you ready to go?"

[Reji]

"Yeah, ready." Reji stood and started to walk towards him - and tripped over one of the huge apples. "Ooof!" she yelped as she hit the ground. Sitting up on one elbow, she grinned up at him nervously. "I'm....okay.....ouch..." So this must be what it was like to fall on your stomach so hard.

[Michael]

"Okay then. Let's go." Michael said. His eyes widened for a moment when Reji fell, but he soon began to chuckle. He walked over to her, bending down next to her and taking her arm to help her up. "Hard fall, huh?" he said, still smirking. "Oh well. You're a tough lady, aren't ya?" Michael patted her on the back a few times, smiling widely. "I just have one question. How do we get back out of here through that hole that I fell into?"

[Reji]

Reji's eyes widened, and she gasped. "I uh...forgot how," she said in a scared and nervous voice, hoping to scare him. She headed through the tunnel and looked up. With a smile, she stepped into a dark circle that was on the ground under the hole they'd come through. Within seconds, a vine in the shape of a chair came up, catapulting her out of the cave. "Your turn!" she called back down to Michael.

((*looks around* Apparently. Nobody comes here anymore. Weird. Ay, maybe Kiwi's kidnapping plan will bring everyone back.))

[Michael]

Michael smiled nervously. "Heh... Okay then..." he said quietly, slowly stepping into the dark circle. "Umm... Up-AAAHHH!!!" The vine caught him off guard, sending him soaring up through the tree's hole. This time though, he was prepared to make a safe landing. He flipped forward until his feet were to touch with the ground rather than his head or back, coming down gracefully and using his knees to absorb the shock of his fall. "*Whew* Well, that was much more pleasant than the trip down." he said, smiling.

((I don't think so. That plot seems to be not happening))

((I see. I wonder when it will....))

Laughing, Reji watched Michael's graceful landing. "I see you've learned. Good job." She started walking faster back toward Luca, purposely going a bit too fast so he'd have to run to catch up.

[Michael]

((At this point, I don't think it's gonna.))

"Hey! Wait up!" Michael called as he ran after Reji, laughing a bit as he did so. It didn't take him too long to get beside her, at which point he began to walk. "Thanks for showing that place to me." he said as they walked together. "So should I not go there alone? I mean, I wouldn't want your big, bad uncle to come and find me."

[Reji]

((Apparently....))

"No probs." Reji grinned at him. "And you can go there anytime. I don't think he'll find it so easily after all these years." She sighed and looked up at the already rising moon. "I don't think I've had so much fun since I was a kid," she muttered, looking down. This was embarassing to admit, but not so much.

[Michael]

"Heh. Glad that you had such a good time." Michael said. "To be honest, I'm not sure if I've ever had this much fun. Maybe some things didn't go right, but it was still cool hangin' out with you." Today had been a surprisingly good day for Michael. He never would have guessed that he would've spent today with a girl like Reji. He expected to be at Youth League Headquarters right now, either training or getting ready to go to sleep.

[Reji]

"Actually, things didn't really go wrong at all," Reji said thoughtfully. "I mean, yeah, I was talked to death by a bunch of girls and you were almost trampled by them...but we made up for it, didn't we?" She jerked a thunb towards the tree behind them. "That was like a real date...wasn't it?"

[Michael]

Michael rubbed his chin a bit, thinking about what Reji had just said. Slowly, a smile spread across his face. "Heh. I guess you're right." He said. "But if this has been a real date, then...." He then reached out with his left hand and grabbed her right. "We should hold hands on the way back. I hope you don't mind."

[Reji]

Reji flushed again. "Not at all," she replied, smiling. It was a cool, clear night for once, and the moon was already coming up, the sun already down. "Hey, if Luca's that bright in the daytime, what's it like at night?"

[Michael]

"Heh. It's great at night." Michael said, looking up at the stars in the sky and smiling gently. "You'll see. It'll be awesome." Having been through Luca at night before, Michael knew what he was talking about. He hadn't generally taken the time to examine everything at length, but he knew that it all looked awesome.
