Michael raised an eyebrow. So the girl had something to show him, eh? His curiosity got the better of him, so he decided that he would insist on buying her a room later. "Is that so?" he said to her in reply to her statement. "Well, what is it? Do you have it with you right now? Or do we have to go somewhere to find it?"

She nodded, a smirk spreading over her face against her will. "But it's not too far from here. At least I think it is. Haven't been inside of Luca, but I know all about the stuff around it." Reji started in the direction of the gate they'd come through.

For a moment, Michael just watched as Reji walked away from him. For a moment, he allowed his eyes to fall to a lower part of her body. "Heh. Nice view." he muttered to herself while she was at a distance. Taking his mind from such thoughts, he got to his feet and ran after her. "Hey! Wait up!" he called as he made his way through the small crowd to catch up with Reji. When he did, he slowed his pace to match her own. "So, how is it that you've never been in this city before?" he asked her.

"Fear, actually." Reji looked startled. "My uncle told me that wherever I went, I would'nt belong. I was too young and gullible at the time he told me." She sighed huffily, remembering her uncle. "So I just stayed out of places where I supposedly wouldn't fit in. But now I see he's wrong."

"Hm. Well, I hope your time in here has been able to get that feeling out of your head." said Michael, looking back and forth between Reji and the people in front of them at random intervals. "Granted there are some places where you won't fit in. But that's the same for almost everyone. To be honest, it took me years to even begin trying to learn that myself."

"Really?" Reji looked at him as she went back through the gates. "Well, I guess we're the same then." She was headed back the way they'd come, though the place was not far from Luca. "And I don't mean that as an insult. It's true; I think we've both heard the same thing. Everyone's nervous about fitting in."

Michael's eyes trailed away from Reji and the crowd. He was now looking up at the darknening sky. His eyes narrowed, and he entered into meaningful speech mode. "Ya know Reji. I like to think that people like you and me are better than people who fit in easily." he began. "If I had had things easy growing up, then I'd never be where I am today. It is in the face of adversity that we are truly tested. People like us, who've faced difficulty, are tested much more than others. If we survive, we become the strongest."
"In my opinion, only tragedy can bring true strength, though it can also bring true weakness. Just look at High Summoner Yuna. She lived the easy life when she was young. Bodyguards. A city where everyone loved her. Financial security. All it took was the death of her father, and a little hard work, to turn that weak little girl into a confident heroine. Can anyone deny the power of tragedy? I, for one, respect it." his speech finished, Michael finally turned his gaze back to Reji. "What about you, Reji?" he said. "What do you think?"

Reji listened intently. "I think you're right. You know, that reminds me of something my mom told me when I was in school, having a hard time fitting in as I do now. She said nothing in life is free. You have to work for it. The people who do no work are sucessful in little, because they will have had no experience. But those who try hard and have a goal in life are most definitley sucessful."
She was nearing a dense forest as she spoke. "Did that make sense to you?" Sometimes she could go on rambling about whatever the topic was.

"Of course. It made perfect sense." said Michael. "And I agree. After all, a warrior doesn't grow strong by doing nothing." Michael looked forward at the forest that they were approaching. A smirk spread across his face. Some forests were notorious for getting people lost and separated. "Is what you want to show me in that forest?"

"Mmm hmm." Reji stopped at a huge oak and looked down at a huge hole at the base of it. "Here it is. See this hole? Jump!" She placed her feet in the hole and landed in the tunnel at the bottom. Whoever's not pleased with what is in this tunnel will have to have been made of stone. I sure hope he likes it. "Come on, I'm down here!" she called, almost having to scream to be heard.

Michael's eyes widened when Reji suddenly jumped down into the tree. "Wha?!" he exclaimed, putting his arms out to catch her. He missed, but had thrown his arms out so forcefully that he began to stumble forward into the tree. He struggled to keep his feet on the ground, but too much of his body was already in the hole. Unable to restrain himself, he fell forward into the tree after Reji.
"AAAAAHHHH!!!!" he screamed as he plummeted towards the bottom. He flipped at least twice in the air before landing flat on his stomach. He barely moved at all, and appeared to be unconcious. In reality, he was just having trouble breathing after that fall. And he certainly couldn't move right now.

Reji grimaced. Ouch. "Are you okay?" she asked, touching his arm. "Yeah, that's what happened to me when I found this. Except I didn't know I was sleeping on the hole. It hurt a lot worse." She smiled reassuringly. He's got a lot to learn about being a traveler. And he's definitley a bit funny when he screams like that.

"Mmmm. Mhm." That was all Michael could say with his face down in the dirt. Summoning his leftover strength, he put his palms to the ground and pushed himself up, taking in a deep breath of air as he did so. He wiped his face on the black shirt that he wore under his vest, knowing that the dirt would not show on it. He coughed a little but, and then shook his head rapidly.
"It'll take more than a little fall to knock me out." Michael said with a smirk. "Now... Lead the way." He brushed his hands together to knock some of the excess dirt off of them.

Reji laughed and headed down the tunnel. "This way." She continued on until she reache a cool, damp area in the cave. In this part, grass grew, and there were two large trees and a waterfall flowing into a large pond. "An underground forest. Can you believe it?" Reji sat down on one of the nearby rocks - or at least the flatter one.

Michael stepped into the forest after Reji, looking around at the tree and the water. "Amazing." he whispered as he walked slowly towards the lake formed by the waterfall. He fell to his knees in front of it, scooped some water into his hands, and splashed it on his face. He then rubbed his face to make sure that he got all of the dirt off. "Ah. Much better." he said, getting back to his feet and turning to face Reji with a smile. "This place is awesome. Are we still in Spira?"
