Time To Meet The Praetor?

Rikku rolled her eyes, "It must be a new thing for you, Gippal. I don't think any other girl would have dared put their mouth on your face." she told him pointing her finger down her throat. "I'm surprised I'm not already dead yet." She smirked again walking closer to him, "Aww is Gippy afraid of little ol' Cid's Girl?" she asked teasingly again, "Does Gippy not like Cid's Girl anymore?" Rikku had to bite her lip from having another laughing fit. "I can't believe you'd call me crazy..." she said in fake sadness, giving him the 'puppy-dog pout', "I only wanted to fix your boo-boo..."

Azul grinned out her laughter, holding back her own comments. Watching was enough amusement for her, any more and she'd have a stroke or something.

Gippal continued to back up slowly, shivers going down his spine at her behavior. "New thing? No, never! And that really does hurt, Cid's girl..." he muttered. He then grinned at her, standing straight up and then gathering her into a hug. "I knew you really cared about me! You'r sheer determination and everything just shows it! Why didn't you just come flat out clean and tell me before?!" Gippal was, of course, faking and using a slightly higher sounding voice. It would probably scare her in return, and maybe even earn him a slap or two, but it was just good old payback.

She raised an eyebrow, "Oh really? Not a new thing?" she asked eyes narrowing. "Just exactly how many girls have done that to you, hmm Gippal?" Rikku pulled away from his hug and crossed her arms. She was truly offended and was pretty sure he wasn't joking either. "Well fine then, be that way. I knew you'd never change." she said shaking her head with a sigh. "You know...I really did think you would be different, but I guess I was wrong." Her gaze went to the ground and she began walking away, tears threatening her eyes, but she would let them see her cry, especially him. 'I'll never be anything more then Cid's Girl to him...after all...I'm only good for a laugh...'. She sat down on the edge of the road looking down at the sparkling water that showed her reflection. Her eyes closed, why did he have to be so....Gippal?

Gippal's arms dropped to his side and a confused look was on his face. His emerald eyes switched from Rikku's back to Baralai and Azul. "Uh.. could someone fill me in on what exactly just happened...?" he asked.

Baralai sighed and clapped a hand on his shoulder. "Gippal, you just made yourself a complete moron. The best thing to do is go over there and apologize, make her feel better or something," he said, pushing him toward Rikku. "And here I thought you were the ladies man and you knew how to handle them. I guess surprises come at the most unexpected, eh?" He smirked at Gippal when he gave Baralai a glare.

With a sigh, he began walking toward Rikku and stopped behind her. Scratching his head slightly for thought, he bent over, hands on his knees, and looked down at the water to see her face. "Hey..I uh..didn't mean that...you know... So I'm.. sorry," he finally said. [This would be the moment he closes his eyes and has an anime sweatdrop! teehee! ^-^]

Rikku just looked away from him, moving away as well. It's not not like she was deaf or anything, Gippal didn't even come up with the idea of apologizing on his own. She sighed, even didn't even really sound sincere about it, well at-least not to her. Rikku sat down again, once she was farther away from him. She played with one of her braids boredly, eyes closed to keep back any possible tears.

Azul watched, sad for her sister. She would have been upset, too, if something like that happened to her. So Gippal wasn't only a pervert, he was a player too? She almost felt compelled to throw one of her daggers at him, but of course she didn't want to make a scene. Plus he was the Machine Faction leader so she'd probably just get arrested on the spot.

Gippal straightened once she had up and moved, his hands linked behind his head. He sighed, looking up at the sky briefly before following her. "Look, I'm not going to give up until you know that I really mean it. Rikku, I really am sorry," he said. Gippal crouched down next to her, arms propped on his knees and his hands hanging limply. His swirling emerald gaze was on the ground, waiting for her reaction. He wouldn't be surprised if she decided to ignore him again.

Baralai glanced at Azul, noting that she looked a bit.. unperky and her eyes kept wandering to Gippal. He leaned against the wall again, his eyes back on the two. "I know that.. Gippal may be a bit scratchy on the apology side, but if you look and watch with a different point of view, you can tell he's trying and he really means it. Sometimes his jokes don't exactly break through the right way and this is what happens," he said, nodding his head in their direction. "Most likely, after the third or fourth try, he'll give up despite what he says and they'll probably ignore each other. I'm not guaranteeing that it'll be that way this time, but that's what happens most of the time.."

"Ugh...why can't you go back to forgetting I even exist?" she mumbled to him, not even bothering to face him. His jokes really did go to far sometimes and couldn't stand it anymore. Apologies just weren't enough. She didn't see why he thought they were so funny, nobody else did. "Nobody thinks your jokes are funny, Gippal. If you really want something to laugh then why not build a machina that will? Oh and maybe you could program it to fulfill your conceited wishes. You know make it call you 'Master' or something." Rikku sighed, sometimes he just made her want to hurt him. She would have changed into her Warrior or Berserker dressphere, but with him being a pervert it wouldn't cause him much pain.

Azul nodded, "All guys are bad with that kind of thing if you ask me." she told him with a smirk. "It's because they aren't in touch with their feminine sides you know. Maybe if they thought about how a girl would feel when they do stuff then they probably wouldn't do it." She laughed slightly, "You guys are just.....I don't know. But you're all the same." Azul's smirk widened, "Oui'na ymm banjandc."

Gippal held back a sigh of frustration and stood sharply. "You know what, Cid's girl, fine. Go ahead and bury yourself in your depression instead of actually letting it all out on someone. It might help you for a chance and I've given you plenty to take it out on me because of my stupid mistakes. If you really want to be left alone, I'll just leave. Didn't think a little hello and maybe some small joke would have hurt this badly..." he muttered, walking away. His hand was on his forehead and Gippal was shaking his head. Sometimes.. I just want to give up completely. But I can't seem to..

"You're comparing me with Gippal?" asked Baralai, giving her a you-are-one-messed-up-girl look. His eyes then moved to Gippal as he trudged away from Rikku. Too bad they were too far away and wasn't able to hear it. "Heh.. what a great way to handle things..." Baralai sighed, shaking his head and running a hand through his snowy white hair.

"Praetor!" Chiana's voice rang through the nearly empty plaza, caushing Baralai to look up. She stopped in front of him, barely out of breath this time. "The council wanted you to check it out personally and see if there's any clear evidence. They thought, since you being the Praetor and if there was any evidence, you'd be solid proof that the Fayth may have something to do with it, seeing as you had seen it yourself. They also assigned me to go along with you in case of any immediate battles."

Baralai nodded, glancing at Rikku. "I guess I can go tomorrow. I need a good night's sleep before I go to any travelling. There will be a liable person taking over my spot until I return, correct?" he asked, his chocolate brown eyes turning to Chiana. She nodded with a smile. "Good.. I don't want it to be controlled by some immature kid and mess up the whole place while I'm gone. Go get some rest before tomorrow, Chiana." She nodded again and waved, disappearing into the temple. Baralai sighed and rested his head back against the wall. "Great..."

Rikku blinked turning her head to watch him walk. "Fine...if he wants me to let go of my anger, then I will let go of my anger..." she muttered to herself looking through her dresspheres. A smirked formed across her lips, 'Black Mage will be perfect, I'd have the elements on my side...' she thought to herself and quickly changed the spheres. She now stood with her awesome big hat and cool wand thing. "Well you asked for it...let's see if Djose taught you anything about how to deal with electricity..." she said and cast Thunder right in front of him so that it didn't hit him. She used it just as a warning.

Azul raised a brow, after listening to the girl speak then watched her walk off back into the temple. She smirked again, "If you ask me, that girl is rather clingy to you..." she told him and started mocking the girl. "Oh Praetor, the council wants this. Oh Praetor they want to see you right away. Blah blah blah..." She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, "Look at her all happy to be going with you on your travels. Pathetic!"

Gippal leaped back, then turned around to stare at Rikku. "Just what the hell are you doing?! I didn't say anything about attacking me! Is this some kind of retaliation against me because I cared?" he spazzed. "If its about those chances, I meant I gave you plenty of chances to yell and scream at me for my stupidity, not attack me with magic. Maybe talk to me sometime to let me know what's going on in the pretty little head of yours."

Baralai laughed at Azul. "Is someone jealous or something? She is a Yevonite, you know. Plus she's a warrior for the Yevonites and she was assigned to accompany me. I'm sure she'd rather stay here and protect the citizens and her home instead of going to the Calm Lands in search of evidence that doesn't exist..." he said. "Chiana is just doing what she's ordered to do. A day doesn't pass where she lets down her people." He glanced over at her with a smile on his face, wanting to laugh at her little charade that she had done of Chiana before.

"What's the matter? Can't beat me? I guess you learned nothing being in that Crimson Squad.." she commented walking closer to him. She cast a another spell, but this time fire. She still wasn't aiming to hit him, just make it so that it was very close. "Oh, but think of this as screaming just...instead of yells it's with sizzling and crackling." Rikku yawned, "But ok, if you don't want to play with fire....then...hmm....do you like sharp objects? Because I do..." She changed spheres again, now a Warrior with the long sword in her hand. It was amazing how she could lift something that was almost as big as she was.

Azul just laughed, "Me jealous? Of a Yevonite? I think not." she told him shaking her head. "Ryr vun y Bnyadun oui ynah'd jano pnekrd, hu uvvahca....duu pyt oui lyh'd ihtancdyht y funt e's cyoehk!" She had a huge smirk on her face, "E pad oui dnyehat dryd kenm mega y bibbo du yld dra fyo cra tuac, hu fuhtan cra ec ymfyoc lusehk du veht oui. Cra zicd lyh'd cdyht du pa yfyo vnus ran sycdan." Azul managed another laugh, it was fun when you could say stuff about people and they wouldn't be able to understand what you were saying.

Gippal only sighed and closed the rest of the distance between them. He caught her chin in his hand quickly, tilting her head up so he could look straight into her eyes. With a smirk, he kissed her cheek and let go, stepping back and holding his arms out on either side. "Now you can go ahead and stab me, if that makes you feel any better. I don't exactly have my gun with me... so I won't fight back," he said with a grin.

Baralai laughed and shook his head at Azul. Cu E ghuf so cryna uv ouin myhkiyka," he said fluently. No, he didn't want to brag, nor did he rub it in her face that he knew what she had said. He simply wanted her to know why and how.

Rikku's face turned bright red, "H...hey no fair! you can't do that you big meanie." she said hoping that he wouldn't see her blush. It would only give him a huge ego boost. "Thats cheating and wel...cheating is against the rules!" She poked him gently with her sword, "There...I stabbed you now go die." Her face only seemed to get more red by the second and she looked away so he couldn't see her face. Why did he always make her so embarrassed? Why was it that every time he did something like that it made her want to do it back? She'd never admit it though.

Azul stared at him with wide emerald green eyes. "B....." she didn't really know what to say. Her eyes narrowed and she glared at him, "Well uh...I meant what I said. She's your puppy, so do you have a special name for her, hmm?" She scoffed and looked away, "Not like I care. I just thinks its disgusting." Azul was already getting frustrated and resorted to speaking her native language whether he understood or not. "E luimt drehg uv y vaf hysac vun ran, pid drao ynah'd jano hela..." she mumbled gaze locked on the ground. She continued to mumble a few other things, but her voice was so quiet you couldn't really understand it.

Gippal laughed, his hands going to the place she had poked him with her sword and trying to fake pained face. "I think I'm really going to die.. you really got me good..." he said, stumbling toward her on purpose. His arms suddenly slung over her shoulders, his upper body pressed against her back. "Cid's girl, you really did a number on my ego... Since when have I ever played by the rules?" He said it quietly in her ear, a grin on his face. Oh teasing her was so much fun.

Baralai laughed again, shaking his head. "Geeze, Azul. Don't get so worked up over a small acquaintance. Chiana is only a warrior and a protector. If you really don't like it all that much, I can always request for you and Rikku to come with me instead. All you had to do was say it," he said, taunting her. Yes, Baralai could have his evil, playful side, but he was mostly nice and considerate. He just wanted to see her reaction. It just intrigued him to no end how she was acting.

I doubt Rikku's face could get any more red. Shivers went through her body when he spoke in her ear. Finally she smirked, so he wanted to tease? Well two could play at that game. She set her sword down and turned her body around hugging him tightly. "I don't see you on the ground, so you can't be dead." she said with a laugh, whispering in his ear as he had did to her. "Hmm....maybe next time I'll go Berserk on you. Then we'll see if you're still standing."

"Why would I ever want to go with you?" Azul said to him, "You'd be much happier if you just took that dog of your's. She'll give you all the attention you want and will actually be glad to be with you." Yes, of course Azul meant none of the things she said, except for the dog comment. Oh, but she could be as bitter as salt and it truly sound like she meant it. "Ah well, sorry to burst your bubble but just because you're the Praetor doesn't mean everybody likes you."
