A miniature machina shot out of a small tube in the middle of the plains. Effortlessly, a young man lazily pointed a gun in the air and fired, the bullet hitting its mark and ripping through the target. The boredom could be plainly seen on his face as two more were fired and subsequently shot down. "This is wasting my time." He bluntly said, pressing a switch in his hand and shutting off the target practice mechanism. Re-holstering his silver-plated gun, he stretched his arms out, yawning.
Looking around the Calm Lands, he saw all the activity going on, but none of the games interested him. Drake got bored very easily. He heaved a deep sigh and ran a hand through his silver hair. "I need something better to do."

Houka wouldn't have minded wandering into the Calm Lands if she had something to do other than let the men gawk at her. Sure it was nice to bask in the glow of their approval but sometimes it was too much. She pushed her dark hair out of her violet eyes before fixing her delicate silk kimono that had a huge slit up the side of it her butterfly necklace bouncing against the hallow of her throat.
She walked up behind a man with pale hair and cocked her eyebrow at him when he started to talk to himself. "Well, talking to yourself only shows you insanity, Stranger-Sama," she told him in a polite, amused way.

"I feel like I'm gonna go insane if I don't find something better to...do." Drake exclaimed, voice lowering as he turned to see who he was talking to. Pleasantly surprised, an interested smirk came across his face. "Well, maybe I won't have to talk to myself anymore." He suggested. "I'm Drake." He added, introducing himself and extending his hand.

"Perhaps you won't, Drake-Kun," she chuckled taking his hand into hers shaking with a gentle grasp. This was all just a mask of course because she was a Samurai at heart, not a Geisha, as most thought she was. There was nothing fragile about the way she fought but there was of course that want to be at least a little feminine. "I am Houka, it is a pleasure and honor." It was just the traditional way that she spoke to people and most thought it was weird but she was born into a very strickt family. They didn't know she had become something so dishonorable though so she would have to keep her dressphere secret.
She sat down, on her rear end, the only thing that would let on that she wasn't a Geisha. She kept her legs in a position so that nothing was showing up under her kimono right next to him. "Drake-Kun, if you don't mind my asking but if you are so bored why do you sit around? I am a Wanderer myself and can't stay in one place for too long so why do you stay in one spot that makes you go insane?" she asked politely smiling. This side of her was for people she had just met because when she got to know people...well it was very different to say the least.

"I've actually just gotten here, so I shouldn't be bored of it yet." Drake said, stooping down next to her. "But if you're talking about the Calm Lands, then I figured I could get in some target practice...before remembering that target practice is REALLY boring." He then turned to her. "But hey, enough about me, what brought you out here?"

She would have to agree with him on the bordom part. Houka wasn't all that fond of the Calm Lands because it held no sort of competition for her skills in the Samurai art. She could beat any of those other Samurai with her hands tied behind her back, as long as she had her razor fans with her of course. A smirk grew quietly on her face then disappeared into another calm face. "It is quite boring when you are very well trained in your art and you can find nothing to challenge you," she commented in her soft Japanese accent giving him a kind smile.
"I am a Wanderer as I have said before," she said looking over at him with her amythest eyes. "I go wherever the wind carries me! I am not bound to one place and plus if my parents knew that I was a Samurai they would kill me!" She laughed lightly winking playfully at him before looking out at some of the games going on. Her parents didn't know, they would never know, and that's how it was going to stay.

"Wow, you hit my problem right on the head. There's no one who can even come close to my skill, hence I'm stuck shooting machina flying through the sky." There was a smirk on his face as Houka spoke of her being a Samurai against her parents' wishes. He knew what it was like to not follow what other people wanted you to do; hell, that was how he lived.
"Oooh, beautiful AND rebellious. Now I'm really interested." Drake said. "Why wouldn't your parents want you being a Samurai though. At least it's an honorable profession."

She smirked in triumph at her nailing his problem on the head knowing exactly how he felt. Houka had been training for years in secret so that her family did not find out and still she had not found another Samurai that could match her. There had been a few back when she was younger and newer at the dressphere but that was a long time ago and this was now. She had found those few and beaten them over to avenge herself. "Yes, I seem to have that problem as well but Samurai around here are hard to come by unless you get a Samurai Competition together or something of that manner," she told him her smirk now fully out.
She turned her gaze out in front of her and glared lightly at the mention of her parents. "They would much rather me be a Geisha than something as common as a Samurai. Women should not weild weapons, they used to say but I have always gone against the rules of my society!" she said looking bakc at him with her smirk.

"Women should not wield weapons..." Drake repeated, as if testing the statement; seeing how it felt. He had never heard it, and he'd seen plenty of female fighters through his travels. He'd even had the opportunity to challenge - and defeat - some as well. "Everybody should have some way to defend themselves, men or women." He finally said, dropping to his butt on the grass. "So how's it feel, going against tradition and all?"

"You know I like you already!" she laughed pushing up her kimono slightly so she could sit more comfortably now that she knew him better. She wasn't always the little polite girl that most people thought she was. No, she was much tougher than that with a kick ass attitude to go with it if you got close enough to her or got on her nerves enough. Taking off her purple shoes that were very unconfortable if you just wear them for long periods of time she stretched out into a lazy way. "I've always thought that as well but my family are the ones that think a man should protect the woman so I just don't go with them on everything."
She laughed again at his question looking over at him as she was laying back on her elbows. "It's kind of exilerating!" she confessed in her soft voice getting a bit louder and more boastful. "I mean they always drilled into my head as a child that I was suppoed to act like a lady and that just wasn't me so I started to go against them. They never knew, mind you, because that was the whole stealth thing for me! I probably would have been killed if they had found out!" She couldn't help but laugh at this thinking about her calm dad trying to kill her. He wasn't the best dad in the world because he wanted a son more than her but he wasn't one to fight all that much.

"They don't know....so at least you can go back home if you ever get homesick." Drake mused, looking up the sky. "Me, I seem to burn my bridges wherever I go. I don't leave on my own so much as I get kicked out of places. Take it from me, rebelling is not always the way to go." He warned. It didn't sound too mch like a warning because of the grin on his face though. Not once did he ever regret anything he did.

"Good thing I don't get homesick, huh?" she laughed hating her parents with a passion. She hated her father for all of the sexism that he showed and she hated her mother, who came with the bamboo stick that had often found Houka's back. Houka had never been a very lady-like girl back when she was younger because of how tom-boyish she was. "I would never go back to my parents and I hate my hometown so I guess it's all the same to me!"
She smirked bringing out one of her many shuriken knifes to fiddle around with in her hands making sure her pale creamy hand wasn't cut. "Oh but if they found out now..." she told him looking over at him with her eyes full of feral humor. "They wouldn't be able to kill me, now would they?" She laughed at the thought of her family going up against her. "But then again they would probably chase after me until they could destory the dishonorment!"

Drake laughed as well. "Your parents attacking a trained Samurai? Now that one I'd love to see." He said, still laughing at the mental image of Houka getting chased by her parents. His attention was then drawn to the shuriken in her hands, and he started to get intrigued. "Hey...just how good are you with those?" He asked, looking down at it.

She couldn't help but laugh at it too twirling the knife in her hands expertly. He was entertaining to say the least and she had always loved the kind of boyish charm that he was showing at the moment. It was that mix of awe and curiosity that drove her up the way and back, but in a good way. She liked someone who couldn't hold in their questions and just had to ask. To most people that would be annoying but not to her. She loved it when kids asked her questions since she was such a child magnet. Kids flocked to her most of the time. Not that he was a child or she saw him as one but it just reminded her of the child-like innocence that she had lost so many years ago.
"You'll just have to figure that out on your own now won't you, Drake-Kun?" she asked smirking over at him. It was an old habit to use Kun or Sama at the end of names from when she used to be a Geisha in training. It was just something she had never gotten out of.

Her answer only got him even more curious. "Aw come on!" He cried, somewhat indignantly, starting to scan the sky around them. Spotting a moderately-sized balloon that wasn't too far away from them, he pointed to it. "There!" Drake said, directing her attention to it. "Could you hit that balloon with your shuriken?"
